Model sailboats offer many wonderful moments of sharing between families and individuals, whether it be a group of RC sailors relaxing beside the pond, or a father and son, a father and daughter,or a grandfather and grandson, or a grandfather and granddaughter. Our Owners' Pictures pages are especially meaningful because of the wonderful relationships that are shown in the pages. (Owners' Pictures Pages) The joy of creating is another wonderful aspect of model boats. This movie captures both of these heartwarming elements in this scene where the father and son sail the boat that the father has built for his son. We actually provided the central boat in two stages of partial completion as well as the finished boat. We even supplied a bag full of wood shavings from shaping the boat hull for a scene in the father's workshop. Cynthia ad Robyn were hired to provide technical support for the sailing scenes. All of the boats sailing on the pond are Tippecanoe boats.

Cameras were set up all around the pond to catch different angles.

Here Robyn is ready to control the main boat in the film as the father launches it on a trial run. The young boy in the film will be pretending to control this boat, but Robyn has the real transmitter.

With all of the support crew, lighting, make-up, camera crews, director's assistants, etc. there were close to a hundred people involved in filming this one scene. The day was perfect with a wonderful sailing breeze coming across the pond.

Cynthia and Robyn had an exciting day. They were put up in a fine hotel the night before the filming so they would be able to arrive on time and as it turned out they were very important in training the support crew how to operate the boats, since none of the support crew had ever sailed before!
